This page says what information Baum Smith LLC collects through this website and through the folders we share with clients and others, and who can see it.

This website

The site has no forms. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking code. Every page, image and file comes from this site; nothing loads from another company’s servers.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives your device’s internet (IP) address and the page you asked for, and keeps logs for security and traffic. We do not use them to identify visitors.

Some pages link to other sites, such as Google Maps for directions and our payment processor’s page for paying an invoice. Once you follow a link, that site’s own privacy terms apply.

Writing or calling us

To reach us, email or call. If you do, we keep what you tell us with the firm’s other correspondence.

Shared folders

We share files through the firm’s own Microsoft 365 system. Microsoft provides the system; the firm controls it, decides who is let in, and owns what is stored there.

When we share a folder with you, we add your email address, and the name Microsoft has for it, to our system as a guest. Microsoft uses them to confirm it is you, by the one-time code or your own work sign-in, and records each sign-in and each file opened, downloaded or uploaded. That record stays in the firm’s system. Firm staff use it to manage access and to keep the file secure.

Microsoft stores and processes this information for the firm under a contract that limits its use to running the service. Microsoft does not use it for advertising, and the firm does not share it with anyone outside the firm.

Files you upload become part of the firm’s file for the matter. We remove your access when we no longer need to share files with you, usually when the matter closes.

Client files

Information about a client’s matter is not governed by this page. The firm keeps it confidential as the Oregon Rules of Professional Conduct require, including the duty to make reasonable efforts to prevent unauthorized access to it.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
